The two sides headed into the interval level at 1-1 but it was Roma who started the second half the brighter and eventually turned the tie in their favor through a thunderous strike from Lorenzo Pellegrini and a close-range finish from Tammy Abraham. A 97th-minute goal from Josip Stanisic proved enough to earn Leverkusen a draw on the night, however, and send them through to the final in Budapest next month.
