Two Earthquakes Detected Near Mansfield
A pair of earthquakes were detected near Mansfield in Tarrant County Wednesday afternoon, according to officials. The quakes were recorded a little after 1 p.m. and had magnitudes of 3.5 and 3.2, respectively.
No Injuries or Damage Reported
There were no reports of injuries or damage from either earthquake. However, some residents reported feeling the shaking and hearing a loud boom.
Earthquakes Common in North Texas
Earthquakes are not uncommon in North Texas. The region is located in a seismically active zone known as the Ouachita Mountains Seismic Zone. This zone is responsible for a number of earthquakes in the region, including a 5.6 magnitude earthquake that struck near Irving in 2008.
